Although we’re still a few weeks away from the first official day of winter, it’s basically impossible to ignore the telltale signs of the season: wind smacking you in the face, cold air chapping your lips, your own breath billowing out in front of you.  Ahh, December in New England.

Whether you enjoy the winter or not, don’t let your body fall victim to the harsh weather conditions that you’ll be facing for the next few months.  Use these products and you’ll be summertime smooth all winter long.

For your hands:

Essie Apricot Cuticle Oil & Earth Therapeutics Nail & Cuticle Care

Quickly swipe the nail-polish-like brush of Essie’s cuticle oil over your cuticles and allow it to naturally absorb into your cuticles—it’ll only take a few minutes.  Then squeeze a pea-sized amount of Earth Therapeutics’ cuticle cream and gently massage it into cuticles, around nail beds, and onto rough, dry knuckles.  Do this once a day and your hands will practically melt into your gloves.

For your feet:

The Body Shop Peppermint Cooling Foot Lotion

This peppermint lotion feels ah-mazing after a long shower and an even longer day on your feet. After soaking in hot water for at least ten minutes, pat your toesies dry and apply this cooling cream all over—even up your ankles and calves—for a clean, tingling sensation.  And don’t forget that the holidays are coming up…that means you don’t have to be afraid to ask for a little treat at your favorite day spa!

For your body:

The Body Shop Body Scrubs & Butters

Store your favorite scented body scrub in the shower and slough it over rough elbows, knees, and ankles every-other day for smooth skin that prevails through the winter months.  Rinse the scrub off, then smooth on some body butter in a matching scent.  Pay special attention to dry, sensitive areas and be gentle around the skin you just buffed.

For your face:

Jergens Natural Glow Daily Moisturizer

Apply a modest amount of this daily moisturizer after you have removed your makeup for the night (be careful to gently blend it into your hairline!).  Allow it to settle into your skin for the night, and you’ll wake up with a natural glow…no tanning bed required!  Also, when applying makeup, be sure to wear some sort of base that contains an SPF element.  The sun is still shining!

Go ahead and embrace the cold New England weather, collegiettes.  In fact, give it a big, cozy bear hug…because it’ll be here in all its hellish glory for the next few months.  Stay prepared with these winter skin busters, and you’ll be ready to hit the slopes the second you hand in your last final.
