How to Pinterest to a Lower Pants Size

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Quinnipiac chapter.

Pintrest: The one word that went from a huh? to a OMG in just the past year alone. Pintrest has become a way of life for countless college aged women. From DIY tutorials to amazing fashion finds, it has it all. One section that is amazingly useful and often overlooked is Health & Fitness.’

The posts in this section focus on “fitspiration” instead of the disturbing trend of “thinspiration”. You can find anything from 20 minute workouts to smoothie recipes. One reason why many people stop working out or lose motivation is the lack of diversity at the gym. If you’re doing the elliptical for 30 minutes a day, you’re bored…and you’re also plateauing. Your body responds to change. It’s really easy to click on a workout that consists of: 30 jumping jacks, 10 pushups, 30 seconds of high knees, 25 crunches and REPEAT for 3-5 times. There are hundreds of these available at the tip of your fingers. Print one out and take it to the gym, you won’t regret it.

Eating healthy is hard enough to begin with, but in college it’s on a whole other level. The temptations of the weekend and greasy café food can be overwhelming. In the Health & Fitness section, there are tons of different recipes and meal suggestions. Who k new there were over 100 different types of infused water you could make in your kitchen? You can make mashed cauliflower instead of mashed potatoes (and it’s really good), or use mushroom tops to make pizzas instead of traditional crust.

The ideas and motivation are endless.
