Horsing Around: Fashion Inspired by the Chinese New Year!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Quinnipiac chapter.

This year is the year of the horse, according to the Chinese calendar, and what better way to celebrate it than by checking out some of these equestrian-inspired apparel (other than the obvious ways)? Everyone knows the legging and “riding boot” look; in fact, I’m sporting it now as I write this post! From earrings and bracelets to shoes and shirts, the equestrian fashion has swept up the nation left and right. Of course, when I think of horses and fashion together, I think of Hermes, but lets be practical here. I’m not sure most college students can afford to spend $325 on a scarf, so I’ll bring it down a notch, though I do adore these silk scarves.

Check out some of my favorite pieces! These Corso Como Stirrup Boots are TO DIE FOR, literally. I’ve never felt leather so soft, and they fit like a glove!

In addition to these boots, J.Crew has these adorable Pixie Jodhpur Pants!

Forever 21 also has a bunch of cute horse-inspired jewelry for less than $3.00!

Harpers Bazaar has a whole article on horses in fashion here, and Vogue has one as well here!!

You heard it here, straight from the horse’s mouth!
