As I was driving the other day I peered over to see a huge “Just Opened” sign on Dixwell, which intrigued me. I’m always looking for new places to go so my friend and I pulled into 2380 Dixwell Ave and took a look. A Jake’s Wayback Burger just opened up in Hamden! We were on our way to Panera but decided otherwise and stepped in. Everything was so nice inside. It was like stepping into a cute old-fashioned diner. They even had the tall retro tables, which, of course, I sat at.
We went up to the counter and looked at our many options to order. From delicious burgers with all free toppings to chicken and vegetarian burgers there’s plenty to choose from. I also tried their Caesar salad and they had free samples of their homemade chips, which were delicious.
We sat down and they delivered our meal right to us without a wait. What I really loved seeing was they cook the food right in front of you assuring you that everything is clean and fresh.
If you’re ever looking for a great place to find a quick burger, Jake’s is the way to go. To switch things up a bit they always have a special burger and milkshake of the month. Next time I go, I’m going to try their enticing milkshakes they have, there’s so many delicious flavors I can’t wait.
