Other than dancing around Toad’s Place every Saturday night, there’s a lot of other stuff to do in New Haven. New Haven has a little something for everyone. From food to shopping to almost anything you can think of there’s always things to do. Just stay in a group! The Yale section of New Haven is beautiful in the day but if you veer off the golden path you don’t know what you may find.

Shopping
Every girl loves to get her hands on something adorable and different to show off. I know I do! New haven has some great places to fulfill that need. The Broadway Shopping District is right downtown near Yale’s campus. There’s a great shopping area between the Broadway District, Chapel Street (historic district) and Audubon Arts and Retail District.

Urban Outfitters has a huge clothing selection with 2 floors on 43 Broadway

Origins is great if you’re looking for natural beauty products on 11 Broadway

Enclave caters to the surf, skate, and snowboard crowd, but offers a diverse line of prodcuts. Don’t be mislead by it’s marketing, it has a great boutique for women with great brands and great prices! 23 Broadway

Hull’s Art Supply and Painting I happened upon this place one day and even though I’m not into art they have a bunch of cute little posters of Paris or just designs for cheap that you can decorate with or use your artistic abilities to do something with and if you have a knack for art there’s about anything you may need in here.

Boutiques are also a great place to find clothes, especially if you’re looking for something special. Vallarina’s, Idiom, Wish List and Sogno Boutique of Dreams are just some you may happen upon walking through the Yale area.

Sweet Treats

The Cupcake Truck
Who doesn’t love something sweet while they shop?  The cupcake truck is a perfect stop to fulfill those sweettooths. Plus, it’s just cool to say you went to a cupcake truck. The cupcakes are made fresh every single day and the flavors are to die for such as salted caramel, lemon meringue or loco coconut. My mouth is already watering…To find the truck click on Where is the Truck Today? On this website: http://followthatcupcake.com/welcome.html

FroyoWorld
46 High Streetis  home to Froyoworld. A self-serve frozen yogurt lounge that is fully stocked with any and every topping your heart desires along with a six rotating flavors. Delicious.

Food
I could never forget the food. New Haven has about any kind of food you can think of from Japanese to Mediterranean to Indian and anything in between.

Frank Pepe’s Pizzeria Napoletana

157 Wooster St
With fresh tasting tomato sauce and delicious ingredients Frank Pepe’s Pizzeria Napoletana is great when you’re looking for that brick oven flavor.

Bentara
76 Orange Street
I love noodle soups and if you’re looking for some great Malaysian food, Bentara is the place. It’s a little pricy with the average main course price of $18 so try going for lunch.

Bangkok Gardens
172 York St
If you’re looking for some great tasting Thai food Bangkok Gardens is the place. Ask to sit in the atrium section.

Sushi on Chapel
1022 Chapel Street
I’m in love with spicy tuna rolls and this place has decently priced sushi. $10 lunch boxes are their specialty, which is at an awesome price.

Yale University Art Gallery
If you’re feeling kind of artsy take a look through Yale’s art gallery. It has a few floors each specialized in different types of art from African to modern. Plus it’s free, which is always a bonus for us collegiettes.

Bookstores
I don’t know about you but I love going into bookstores and looking around for a new read. Especially if there’s coffee involved. On 1082 Chapel Street, Atticus Bookstore and Café is a great little place to go chill out with friends, they also serve breakfast and lunch. They have a great selection of books from new to old along with the perfect atmosphere to just hang out.

Enjoy the beautiful days <3 T
