Is dating your best friend really worth it? Falling in love with your best friend can honestly be a blessing and a curse. Growing up, your friends may have teased you about dating one of your friends, but you weren’t willing to take the plunge. Fast forward 10 years, and you’re finally ready to give it a shot.

Uh oh.

Even though dating your BFF may seem like the worst idea ever, if you have strong feelings for them, it may actually work. There are tons of pros that come along with dating a best friend: you know what they’re looking for when it comes to a relationship, you’ve already met their family, and you know their fave spot to go for sushi.

When contemplating whether it’s the right call, make sure to not make any impulsive decisions and talk things out FULLY with a friend that you trust. Go old school and make a list of pros and cons on paper – so you can truly visualize what’s at stake and the good times ahead.

Strongly consider the following questions:

1. Do you actually have feelings for them or do you just like the idea of dating them?

2. How will this potential relationship impact your friend group dynamics?

3. What if the relationship doesn’t work out? Is dating them worth risking your friendship?

Don’t focus on the negatives, and remind yourself of all the amazing things that will happen when it DOES work out. Keep those fingers crossed and  … GO FOR IT! :)
