Screemers Toronto

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Queen's U chapter.

I went to “Screemers Toronto” with two of my high school besties (Carly and Deandra), as it is a tradition for us to celebrate Halloween together. I still remember 3 years ago when we had this themed, fun, spooky Halloween Party at Carly’s grandparents’ place! (Not exactly fun because we decided to watch scary movies afterwards…the movies were “The Blair Witch Project” and “Paranormal Activity”. I never wanted to watch any more scary movies after that night!!)

Anyways, Carly’s grandpa kindly drove us three to the Queen Elizabeth Building in Toronto and our adventure began. We saw Pizza Pizza, so we decided to grab some food first. Then we saw a lot of creepy creatures walking around, a lot of them.

I saw this gross looking, fake person on the ground, and decided to take a closer look at him. I walked towards him, bent down to look at him, and then HE MOVED! I jumped so far away from that thing with my highest volume scream of the night, and then spotted the sensor in “his” eye!!

There were seven haunted houses in total, and the challenge was to finish all of them.

We. Were. Very. Scared. Because we saw something like this…

Okay.. For some magical reasons, we decided to choose this one (aka Slasher Wax Museum) as the first one to go in. Carly and I were nervous for the whole time, but Deandra did not even seem like she was scared at all.

Deandra went first (Surprise! Yay!). Carly and I followed. Honestly I don’t exactly remember what happened in each of the houses because they were ALL SCARY. This one was very bloody, gross, and it smelt kind of bad too… The theme was obvious—there were blood and “body parts” everywhere!! Ewwwww… I just remembered this “fake person” (because he was chained to the wall) jumping out, and us being chased after by this man holding an electric saw. We RAN so fast and SCREAMED so hard although we all knew the fact that they would not ever hurt us.

Then we went to the Skull Castle, there were a lot of skeletons and skulls, of course. But I don’t remember exactly what I saw (but here is the picture)

Then we went to House of Cards, it was not scary at all. I actually thought it was kind of pretty, because the house was filled with glow in the dark colors! Carly sadly, was trapped at the corner by this scary poker lady and SCREAMED my name so hard… So I turned back and saved her from the poker lady!

The Haunted House…this one creeped me out. Because it was AN ACTUAL HOUSE with bathrooms, bedrooms, kitchen and etc. There were GHOSTS everywhere! And someone jumped out of the bed to scare us. I almost cried!!! It was so scary because it felt very real…

The Darkness…THIS ONE WAS SO SCARY BECAUSE IT WAS PURE DARK!!! We could not see ANYTHING when we were walking through the house. “Things” just show up to us and we had NO IDEA where they came from… Thanks to the tall, strong man who were in front of us, because we were pretty much all hiding behind him the whole time (and he was screaming pretty hard too).

The Manic Maze. It was a maze, and it was not that scary. There were mirrors so it was kind of creepy.

The Asylum. I honestly do not remember what happened.

Anyways, we managed to survive from all these houses, with our throat dry and our hearts beating so fast.

That was indeed a very spooky Halloween……
