Since reality TV’s meteoric rise in popularity since the 1990’s, the pool of shows available has grown significantly. Today, there seems to be a reality show to fit any kind of mood or demographic, and they show no signs of slowing down in production. Here are a few highly entertaining reality TV shows that are perfect for your next binge-viewing session!

1. 90 Day Fiance

This show follows the journeys of couples, where one person is an American and the other comes from another country, applying for the K1 visa process in the United States, also known as the “fiance” visa. Once the visa is approved, the couple has 90 days to get married or the foreign partner has to leave the country. With this short timespan, it is certainly possible for some drama to ensue and this show has no shortage of it! In fact, 90-Day Fiance has garnered such a strong following from its six seasons that it has allowed for the creation of two spinoffs: Happily Ever After? (three seasons, and a fourth upcoming) and Before the 90 Days (two seasons). If you are looking for a show with both loads of drama and heartfelt moments, then look no further!

2. The Great British Bake-Off

This show, as the name implies, is a baking competition that takes place in the U.K. in which 12 amateur bakers compete against one another in various challenges. Each episode consists of three challenges based around a category of baked goods: a signature challenge, where each baker creates their own recipe, a technical challenge, where they have to accurately recreate one of the judges recipes, and a showstopper challenge, where they create a much larger and more intricate piece. While this show doesn’t offer much in drama, it is still greatly entertaining for any baking/cooking enthusiast, as well as one of the few reality shows that the whole family can enjoy. With nine seasons already done, Bake-Off’s immense popularity will certainly keep it running for many years to come!

3. Love After Lockup

This is by far one of the most entertaining reality TV shows running right now. Love After Lockup follows multiple couples that met while one of them was in prison, and chronicles their relationships and their struggles and highpoints once the partners are released. While it may not be the most high brow program in the genre, it has no shortage of drama and storylines to keep viewers coming back every week. With only two seasons of the show so far, it has a small but passionate cult following, which will most likely grow as the show continues. Love After Lockup is definitely the show for anyone who is looking for some good ol’ guilty-pleasure trash TV.

So there are some recommendations for binge-worthy reality TV shows right now. Even though reality TV isn’t always 100% reality, it’s still a fun way to kick back on a night in with friends or on your own. Just remember to take everything you see with a grain of salt, and don’t take it too seriously!
