Welcome to the first of many weekly articles where I, Lauren Long, a resident of West Lafayette since the age of 2, share with the women of Purdue insights into this lovely college town you may or may not know about.
I’ll highlight a restaurant, business or thing to do in town that you have either heard of but haven’t gotten the chance to visit or something completely new to you that you should check out!
I recently started working at a pottery studio called All Fired Up! in West Lafayette. Shameless plug, I know but this really is a fantastic business. The studio has readymade pieces that customers choose from including coffee mugs, plates, picture frames, containers, etc… All the supplies are in the store for making a custom work of (practical) art!
Paint, brushes, stencils and knowledgeable employees are all provided and included in a studio fee in addition to the price of your piece that you paint.
Paint it. Wait a week. Pick up your piece and enjoy!
There are weekly specials that are fabulous for discounts!
Monday: Student Day – 50% off studio fee with your student ID (all day!)
Tuesday: Mommy & Me Day – 50% off studio fee when you and a child paint together
Wednesday: Wine & Cheese Date Night from 5-9pm – 50% off studio fee when you and a “date” paint together
Thursday: Diva Night from 5-9pm – 50% off studio fee for all the ladies
Friday: Midnight Madness from 9pm-midnight (on select dates) – studio fee is waived! Bring a bottle of wine and paint with your girls!
Sunday: Family Day – 50% off studio fee for all family members painting together
The environment is a seed for creativity with bright colored walls, paint everywhere and happy music playing throughout the store. What a wonderful way to spend a rainy afternoon or chill night with a few friends!
