‘Tis the season to be giving! I know we’ve featured this business before, but this time we’re recognizing the holiday spirit of Greyhouse rather than its quaint and cozy interior.
When you walk in to the coffeehouse these days, you might see ribbons hanging on the walls with tiny cards clipped into them. As they have done in seasons past, the folks at Greyhouse are working with Lafayette Urban Ministry, collecting items for a local “toy bank”. Each card has an item that is desired by a young boy or girl in the community, and Greyhouse patrons have the opportunity to take a card, purchase the item and place it in the Greyhouse Toy Window by December 1st when the first delivery will be made. These toys will then make their way to the “toy bank”, where low-income parents can pick out toys to give to their kids for the holidays. I picked up a card on my last visit, and I can’t wait to pick out a stuffed animal for a little girl in the community. Get out there and spread the holiday cheer, collegiettes™!
The cards also list the contact information for any questions about the Toy Window program: community@greyhousecoffee.com
