My Summer Bucket List

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Purdue chapter.

With the dispiriting weather and never-ending semester, I have never looked forward to my summer break more. After having an unambitious semester, in which all my motivation has seemed to have been drained from my physical body, I’m ready to relax under the sun with a good book. But, along with taking summer classes, I plan on having a productive  summer to become the self-proclaimed “it” girl. Here are some of my summer goals to inspire you to make yours:

1. Read two books a month

I’ve never been a big reader. Although my bookshelf is full of unread books, I still only have time to read for my classes and not for pleasure. So, I’m going to challenge myself to read six books of fiction this summer.

2. The “Emma Chamberlain” workout

I want to become Emma Chamberlain. Who doesn’t? I’m going to set my alarm and go straight to the gym every morning. I’ve been putting my physical health on the backburner this whole semester and I want to have a “hot girl” summer. Just like Emma, I’ll probably be stopping to get an iced matcha. If only I lived in L.A….

3. Develop my tennis skills

I’m an avid tennis fan. I want to further develop my skills this summer because I’ll have the time. And I’ll get to wear my cute tennis skirts.

4. Go on a road-trip

I have no clue where I’ll go, but I want to take a road-trip this summer. Either by myself or with my friends, I want to get out of Indiana and explore a new city.

5. spend more time outside

I’m so over the rain and the chilly wind. Instead of wearing my winter coat, I want to wear a cute summer dress and my Birkenstocks to my classes.  While reading or studying, I want to spend more time outside to make up for the bleak winter season.
