No matter how much food I eat or how full I am, there’s always enough room for dessert Some may even say I have a second stomach just for dessert. Between cookies, cakes, pies, and ice cream, it’s hard to decide which one is my favorite. When eating at the dining courts, it’s hard to not get something sweet and yummy after my meal, especially when Wiley has melt-in-my-mouth chocolate chip cookies.
When not eating dessert at dining courts, I often head to Cary Grill with my boyfriend to get milkshakes. I can’t count the amount of times I’ve gone to Cary Grill for a late night milkshake with a side of shoestring fries.
It’s hard to say when my love for desserts first began. I remember in elementary school, almost everyone’s favorite day was when it was someone’s birthday and they brought cupcakes. These magical little cakes could transform my whole day and turn it into one of the best days ever- especially when I knew it was going to be the gigantic cupcakes from COSTCO.
Desserts are used generally in every celebratory occasion like birthdays. For everyone’s birthday in my family, we buy an amazing fruit tart with custard, strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, and a layer of chocolate on a graham cracker crust. Ugh, just thinking about it is getting me hungry and has me salivating.
Two of my favorite times of year are when I go home for either Christmas or Thanksgiving because I know that I get to make a yummy dessert concoction with my sister. This past year, we’ve really been into making ice cream cakes.
Anything with ice cream is definitely a major guilty pleasure of mine. Since starting college here at Purdue, my love for Cold Stone has grown and so has my obsession for the signature creation Mud Pie Mojo. If you love coffee ice cream, peanut butter, and Oreos, I would definitely try it.Over the years, desserts have found their way into my life as a major food group and we have formed a lasting relationship. Of course like every relationship, it may not be the healthiest at times, which my scale can account for, but desserts will always be and always have been my one true love.
