My Most Loved Products From 2021 That I Am Bringing With Me to 2022

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Purdue chapter.

It is official. 2021 is over. We are now moving on to 2022. I don’t know about you but it is so scary for me to move on to a new year, but I see it almost as a sort of challenge. This is the perfect time to leave everything in the past year and start fresh. Well, maybe not everything. Here are my most favorite things that I discovered in 2021 that I am stepping into 2022 with.

FASHION AND ACCESSORIES

Lonely Ghost Hoodie “Text Me When You Get Home”

Unfortunately, it is now sold out, but I put this hoodie from Lonely Ghost on my Christmas list, and I have been loving it! It is extremely well made, and I adore the sweet sentiment. They have so many cute options with similar messages on their site that I think gives a comfy, casual outfit that extra dash of cool.

Headbands

Call me Blair Waldorf because I have been loving a good headband moment recently. I think it is such an easy accessory to throw on and elevate any outfit. For the past few months, I have been collecting all kinds of styles and colors. It also is a great option for second day hair!

Gold Jewelry

For a long time, I have refused to pick a side in the silver versus gold debate, but I think I have made my decision. I have been wearing so much gold jewelry lately, to the point that I will avoid reaching for my silver jewelry. I love the look of layered gold chains or a chunky gold hoop.

Claw Clips

I know these have become somewhat of a “basic” accessory, but I think they are the best! I love throwing my hair up in a claw clip because it is so easy and convenient, and they are super cute!

Express Body Contour Line

I genuinely could talk about Express’ Body Contour Collection ALL DAY LONG. The pieces in this line are the most incredible staple pieces that you need to have in your closet. The great thing about these is they are double lined, so you can’t see your bra lines underneath. That is something I always struggle with being someone with a larger chest, but I feel so comfortable wearing anything from this collection. Express is also continuously releasing more variations of the bodysuits and tanks in this collection so there is something that everyone will love!

beauty and skincare

Replica by Maison Margiela

This is another item that I added to my Christmas list, and I am so glad that I did! These perfumes are so incredible. I asked for a value set that came with five small bottles of their most loved scents. Sephora currently is selling a similar set for $35.00 that comes with ten scents in smaller samples. I think this is such a good deal to try out the brand and decide what scent you love before making the splurge on a full-sized bottle.

ColourPop Sonic Blooms Glossy Lip Stain

I randomly picked this up one day while I was shopping, and I have been loving it ever since. I have the shades Flowerlust and Big Apple, and I have been so impressed with how long these last.

It Cosmetics Confidence In An Eye Cream

Now this is definitely more of a splurge, but I absolutely think it is worth it. This eye cream has been a game changer for me and keeps my skin so soft and under eyes moisturized!

Ice Roller

This is another random item my mom gifted me for Christmas in my stocking and it has been so surprising. I had never really used anything this before, but I have started ice rolling my face after I finish applying my skincare to close my pores. It is so refreshing and makes my skin feel so nice.

Kristin Ess Working Texture Spray

I picked this up at Target one day and I won’t do my hair without it now. This is such a great medium-hold finishing spray that doesn’t make your hair crunchy. It adds texture and volumizes without making your hair feel like a ton of product is in it.

MUSIC/BOOKS/MISCELLANeOUS

Red (Taylor’s Version)

I am not even sure I need to explain why this is on here because if you know, you know. Honestly though, this has been on repeat since it released. The ten minute version of “All Too Well” has had me in a chokehold and don’t even get me started on “I Bet You Think About Me”.

TikTok

I feel almost embarrassed to put this on here, but I am just being honest. I truly feel ashamed when my iPhone gives me the phone usage notifications showing how much time I spend on my phone, because about 90% of that is because of TikTok. I am always scrolling through my for you page, and while most would think that would be a complete waste of time, I discover new books, music, and so much more.

Country Music???

If you really know me, you may be very surprised that I just admitted to enjoying country music. Being from Arkansas, growing up I was surrounded by country music so I always claimed to hate it because it was all I would ever hear. Now, I can’t get enough of it. I think it is because I am moving to Nashville after graduation, and I am trying to embody the cowgirl mindset. All jokes aside though, some of my favorites lately have been “Thinking ‘Bout You” by Dustin Lynch feat. Lauren Alaina and anything by Miranda Lambert.

A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder by Holly Jackson

I picked this up one day while browsing the aisles at Barnes and Noble and it was a great, easy read! I definitely recommend it if you like murder-mysteries.

Although it is hard to make a list of everything you loved for an entire year, I think this encompasses it pretty well. If you try anything on this list, be sure to let me know if you love it as much as I do!
