Who says you can’t dress up, have fun, and save money? I ask myself this every Halloween by putting together a costume with items I already have. Below are the list of three costume ideas that I may try out this Halloween without having to break the bank.

Darla from Finding Nemo.

It’s been ages since I watched Finding Nemo, so I did not realize how simple it is to put together Darla’s look. Credit goes to a Refinery21 video which includes other amazing DIY Halloween costume ideas as well. I could put my hair into pigtails, make braces out of aluminum food wrapping, wear a purple sweater with a blouse underneath and plaid jeans since I do not have a skirt. Finally, grab my bag with Nemo in it and violently shake it to get into character.

The other mother from Coraline

YouTube recommends costume videos on my homepage, but a Coraline’s other mother tutorial caught my attention. After all, there is nothing creepier than a mother who wants you to stay with her forever. The only thing I need is a white sweater and to tie my hair to create the illusion of a bob cut. Then draw on brows, apply red lipstick, and have button eyes made cardboard instead of clay as shown in the video.

Crazy Cat Lady

I am most likely going to be a crazy cat lady this year so I have an excuse to be in pajama pants and throw rollers into my hair. In a pinterest post, someone tied stuff cat animals on her clothes, but I plan on printing out pictures instead, which gives me an excuse to look at cute cat pictures instead of studying.

These are three simple yet easy costumes to throw together. What are you planning on being this Halloween?
