Meet Your New Campus Correspondents

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Purdue chapter.

Make way, make way, your new Campus Correspondents are coming! With our callout this past Wednesday, September 26th, 2018, it’s time to meet your Campus Correspondents, Taylor Bragdon and Janice Chan for Her Campus at Purdue. Let’s take some time to get to know them.

HC: What year are you in and what are your majors?

Taylor: I am a junior in Selling and Sales Management with a minor in Management

Janice: I’m a junior in Biological Engineering with a minor in Biotechnology

HC: Where are you from?

T: McCordsville, IN

J: Phoenix, AZ

HC: What are your favorite places at Purdue?

T: One of my favorite places is the clapping circle. It is a really nice spot to hammock in the fall and springtime. I also really love the Hello Walk, especially when the farmers market is going on.

J: My favorite place has to be the Engineering Fountain, it’s a great place to just lounge around. I love when the weather is super nice and everyone starts hammocking around the fountain.

HC: Why do you love Her Campus?

T: I love the girls. We try and keep our club like a family no matter how many people we have in it and it has given me some of my best friends here at Purdue.

J: I love Her Campus and empowering women through writing. Her Campus has helped me make amazing friendships that I otherwise wouldn’t have made.

HC: What is your favorite drink to get at Starbucks?

T: I don’t like coffee so if I get anything it would be hot chocolate.

J: My favorite drink depends on the season. In the winter, I love getting a peppermint mocha frappuccino and in the spring/summer I go for a peach green tea lemonade.

HC: What is one piece of advice you wish you could give your freshman self?

T: I would tell my freshman self not to worry so much because anything I worried about turned out okay in the end. I would also say make sure you are studying hard enough.

J: As a freshman, I was constantly worried about not doing enough. Although I’m still worried about it, I would tell my freshman self that everything will be alright and just to focus on finding my routine and getting better acclimated to college life. I also would tell myself to get organized.

HC: What song do you have on repeat right now?

T: I have been listening to Apple Juice by Jessie Reyez nonstop recently.

J: I love listening to Magic in the Hamptons by Social House ft. .Lil Yachty. It’s a great song for driving, doing homework and chores, and destressing.

HC: What would be your dream job after you graduate?

T: After I graduate my dream job would be doing sales for a clothing company or a travel company. Eventually, I would like to explore more into the marketing side of selling and do marketing for a nonprofit.

J: Oh boy. I have no idea what I want to do after I graduate, which is really scary. There are so many industries I want to be a part of, but I would love to find a way to work with both pharmaceuticals and environmental sustainability. They’re two very different industries but if there was a way I could bring them together and travel at the same time, my life would be complete.

We’re both super excited for this school year and can’t wait to begin!
