The world of fashion is very inspiring and exciting. Although very fast-paced, the fashion business has proved very beneficial to Purdue alumna Tiffany Troncin.
Â
A 2004 graduate of the once existing Fashion Merchandising program, Tiffany has proved that being an entrepreneur in Los Angeles working in the ever-changing fashion industry is not only possible, but profitable and fascinating as well.
Â
At such a young age Tiffany has a very impressive résumé built up. Having worked for Chanel out in L.A. after graduation, she has now also opened two businesses or her own.
Â
The first business she opened in August of 2010 is right here on Purdue’s campus. Twenty Ten Boutique, voted West Lafayette’s #1 boutique in 2010, is located in Wabash Landing behind Scotty’s Brewhouse. As an Indiana native, Troncin saw a gap in the market for higher end, trendy clothes on Purdue’s campus. She prides herself on bringing L.A.’s hottest fashions and trends to the women in the West Lafayette area.
Â
Tiffany’s next brainchild was born in January of 2011 when she and three fashion-obsessed friends came together to open a multi-line showroom and consulting agency called Room 4 Agency.
Â
Located in the heart of downtown L.A., Room 4 features celebrity-loved brands such as Plush, Falling Whistles, Alexx Jae & Milk, and Kasil Workshop.
Â
Tiffany is living her dream of working in the fashion industry and loves every second of working in her showroom, Room 4 Agency.
Â
While in Los Angeles in January, I was lucky enough to visit the multi-line showroom that Tiffany co-owns, and I was allowed to sit in on a meeting with the brand designers of Alexx Jae & Milk while they presented their upcoming fall line.
Â
It was such an amazing experience to see how passionate the designers are about their brands, and how passionate Tiffany is about seeing all of the lines in the showroom succeed.
Whether it is traveling to fashion trade shows such as PROJECT, meeting with designers, or helping potential employees like me realize their dream; Tiffany Troncin is in control of her fashionable destiny and in the famous words of Tim Gunn, “making it work.”
