We are all aware that spring break is just around the corner. Every Purdue student is eagerly awaiting this well-deserved break. With that in mind I have discussed amongst fellow Purdue students and found the most popular destinations this year.

  1. Miami, FL

Miami is a huge hotspot every year, but this year more than ever people are traveling to Miami for spring break. Miami is full of wild clubs, great beaches, beautiful views, and plenty of nightlife. It pretty much has everything you will need for a fun college spring break. Florida is always huge during spring break season, and Miami is a major attraction.

  1. Cabo San Lucas

Cabo is the most perfect location if you are looking to leave the country. This one is huge for college freshman and sophmores because the drinking age in Cabo is only 18. Cabo is known for its all inclusive resorts. The unlimited drinks and food are definitely worth the price. The most popular resort this year for Purdue students is RIU. RIU has a built-in club, so you don’t even need to leave the property to have a great time ;)

  1. Fort Lauderdale, FL

Up next is Fort Lauderdale. This destination is known everywhere as a college spring break hotspot. Not only is this the place to go at Purdue, but it is popular amongst many other Big10 schools as well. Fort Lauderdale is just one of those places that you need to visit before you graduate college. I’m not exactly sure if I would go back, but I sure had a fun time there last year. This is a big one of you are looking to spend more time at bars than the beach because it is very difficult to find a beach that isn’t packed with college kids.

  1. South Padre Island, TX

This year more than ever people are traveling to South Padre Texas. South Padre is located right on the border of Texas and Mexico, so you can get the Mexico feel without even leaving the country. South Padre is known for its beaches and for being a “party-happy spring break location”. I honestly never really even knew about South Padre Island till this year, but it seems to be pretty popular amongst Purdue students and I see why.

  1. Key West, FL

Key West is such a fun and lively place to be, especially during spring break. It has a very unique feel and exciting downtown scene. Key West is full of amazing restaurants and beautiful beaches. Biking is very popular in Key West, so if you plan on going, I recommend renting a bike during your trip. Key West has loads of iconic bars that are full of college students. I also recommend checking out Mallory Square on the boardwalk.

Wherever you plan on going or not going this spring break make sure to take some time to unwind and destress because you certainly deserve it. Spring break can be very hyped up, but don’t feel bad if you don’t have any travel plans. Just remember wherever you are stay safe and have fun!
