What is it with Purchase Panthers and piercings? No matter where I look, there’s construction – both on the campus grounds and the student faces. A known “construction worker” on campus is senior printmaker Jon Stogner.

“I do mostly body piercing, although I stick to the easy ones since I usually end up doing them in my residence on a person’s whim,” said Stogner. He has been piercing since high school, due to the restriction of money and age. Though he isn’t registered, he still offers to due piercings on campus when available.

“He was very professional and the experience was quick and painless,” said freshman Rachel Kroft. Stogner pierced Kroft twice, in the cartilage and in the earlobe. “I’d go to Jon again in the future for my piercing needs,” said Kroft.

Junior Tyler Dawson has received three piercings from Stogner, two in the cartilage and one in the earlobe. According to Dawson, each time was fun and memorable. “I will probably go back to him some time this semester for another one,” said Dawson.

If you are interested in a Stogner piercing experience, the cost is around $10 to $15 (not including jewelry). His availability could be limiting, since he is in the homestretch senior semester. Just know: if there is a needle, there is a way.

Christie is a sophomore journalism major at Purchase College in NY, but she’s a Jersey Girl at heart. When she isn’t studying (or being sarcastic), she spends her summers selling crafty jewelry on Long Beach Island and making coffee for her superiors at Parker and Partner’s Marketing Resources. She’s a sucker for debates, sushi, and a really good book. Her dream job (this week) would be at the Village Voice, but she’d be happy with a byline and paycheck. She hopes to make HerCampus bigger and better than ever at Purchase and is excited for the chance to work with these lovely HC ladies.
