Your New Year’s Resolution Based on Your Zodiac Sign

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at PSU chapter.

In 2020, much of the world hit rock bottom, but once you hit the bottom you can only go up. I assume you already have a few New Years’ resolutions in mind; however, if you’re still struggling to figure out how to better yourself, try looking to the stars to help.

Your zodiac sign can tell a lot about you. All of the signs have their strengths and weaknesses that make them unique. Here is your New Years’ resolution based on your zodiac sign.

Aries: Meditation

2020 has been extremely difficult and has taken a toll on everyone. Aries’ are so full of life and energy, but in darker times that can morph into anxiety and stress. Practice some self-care in 2021 and try meditating. This will help combat any stress, anxiety and a foggy mind to keep you happy and healthy in the new year.

Taurus: Pick Your Battles

Taurus’ are often seen as stubborn; however, this stubbornness involves difficulty with prioritization. Your passion can lead you to get fixated on certain things, but compromise is the best solution. Decide what is worth fighting for and what can be compromised upon.

Gemini: Be Honest

The Gemini stereotype is dishonesty and lying to others. I think this stereotype is pretty harsh and not necessarily true. I think any dishonesty in a Gemini is to themself. Your insecurities get the best of you and you tell yourself you are not good enough.

Now that is a lie. Be honest with yourself this year and channel your inner bad “bleep,” because that’s what you are.

Cancer: Volunteer

Volunteering is a great way to help others along with yourself. Cancers sometimes can get too in their head and dwell on their issues. If you are busy volunteering, then you are helping others with their problems, which will distract from your own.

Leo: Use Your Voice

Leos exude confidence, which is a trait every other sign is jealous of. Knowing how to command a room with your presence is an amazing skill. People are more likely to listen to and trust a confident person, so use that power to spread messages you are passionate about.

Virgo: Be Spontaneous

2021 is the year Virgos are finally spontaneous. Put down your planner and do something out of your routine. If you’re missing someone, don’t think about it — just call them.

Another example could be trying new food with your roommates. Think like Nike this year and just do it.

Libra: Save Money

You are already super hard working and know how to earn money. Retail therapy can sometimes get the best of you, though. Save up your money this year to buy things you really want instead of things you don’t really care about.

Scorpio: Journal

Scorpios are often seen as the quiet, mysterious, creative ones. Journaling before bed is a great outlet for releasing all the information stored up in your mind. You don’t even have to write a typical diary entry if you don’t want to. It can be something more creative like poetry if that is something you enjoy.

Sagittarius: Plan An Adventure

Sagittarius’ love adventure, and it’s been difficult to explore the world with the risk of traveling right now. Since you can’t explore a new country or city, try finding a place in your town you’ve never been to before.

Examples could be a store you’ve never stepped foot in, a new restaurant or a new hiking trail. Try to make the most of any adventure you can.

Capricorn: Dream Big

Capricorns are constantly putting others above yourself, but 2021 is your year. You need to prioritize yourself and your goals. If you set your mind to it, you can achieve anything — so dream big this year.

Aquarius: Make Quality Time

I know this can be difficult given the pandemic, but there are still ways you can be around other people. You can invite your roommate to cook a meal with you, invite your mom on a morning walk, or invite friends to a scheduled Zoom call to catch-up.

COVID-19 has made socializing very difficult, and as an Aquarius, you love your alone time. Don’t get too lonely.

Pisces: Take Charge

2021 is the year you should take charge in some aspect of your life. You are already so respected by your peers, and 2021 holds new opportunities to show your leadership skills.

This year, try running for a position in a club or organization you are involved with. It’s time to show people that Pisces’ are ready to take charge.

Enjoy the New Year, collegiates! I hope 2021 is everything you ever wanted and more.
