The snow has already begun to fall and the wind is whipping our hair around outside. It’s time to bundle up against the frosty winter weather. The good news is that there are plenty of ways to be warm and stylish simultaneously.
Here’s where you can find fashionable yet cozy winter wardrobe essentials.
Scarves
Chunky scarves have been a major cold-weather trend for the last several years.
The Acne Studios scarves have been on my wishlist for a while, and the brand has a wide variety of colors, patterns and fabrics.
Anthropologie, Urban Outfitters, Zara and Princess Polly also have chunky scarves to choose from at more modest price points.
Hats
One specific trend I’ve been seeing this winter season would be statement hats.
These options from Walmart, Free People and H&M will have you looking like a high-fashion Truffula Tree (from Dr Seuss), and I’m all for it.
If that’s not quite your style, consider a colorful beret or knit beanie.
Ear Muffs
I love chunky scarves, oversized jackets and baggy sweatpants. Ear muffs are no different.
There’s no chance your ears will get cold wearing these sizeable muffs from Amazon.
Mittens and Gloves
If you need quick access to electronics, these glove picks from Target and Amazon are perfect.
Personally, I love mittens even if they are a bit impractical. They are soft and delicate and add the perfect accent to any cold-weather outfit.
Luckily, there are plenty of places to find them. I would head to Etsy, Amazon and H&M first.
Socks
My feet are always freezing in the winter. To combat those frosty tootsies, I like to warm up with thick, fuzzy socks.

Puffer Jackets
Puffer jackets are so popular right now.
This puffer from The North Face is warm and chic, and it comes in a wide variety of colors. Target and H&M have puffers in similar styles.
Bags
A fuzzy bag won’t help to keep you warm, but it’s stylish and fun.
The Tote Bag by Marc Jacobs comes in a fuzzy version perfect for the winter months.
Free People makes a fury tote as well, as does Saks Fifth Avenue and Lululemon.
Boots
The Ugg Classic Ultra Mini Boots are the most iconic shoes on the market right now, maybe only second to the Tasman Slippers. Fortunately, there are quite a few dupes available, including those from Amazon and Altar’d State.
These aren’t everyone’s idea of cute winter boots, but I will personally be adding MOON BOOTS to my wishlist. I can’t wait to lace them up and look like a chill snowboarder relaxing in the ski lodge.
