Take one look at this photograph. What do you see? Most of you will say a young child perched on a man’s shoulders. But see, that’s where you’re wrong. This image is so much more than that.
It was taken exactly one year ago among many others at THON 2014 and to this day, it is still my favorite. Simple, yes, but when I look at this photograph, I see a warrior. I see a child who has tackled unbelievable obstacles and conquered unimaginable feats. I see a reason to never to give up. I see a chance to believe.
I see courage. I see wisdom. I see honesty. And I see strength.
