Style Trends I’m Living For This Summer

I swear something shifts in me every summer. Like, I wake up one day, and suddenly I’m like… why have I been dressing so safe? Why am I not wearing the things I actually think are cute?

This summer feels different, though. I’m not trying to look like anyone else, I’m not following every trend I see on TikTok—I’m just wearing what feels good on me. And somehow that’s been making me feel the most confident I’ve felt in a while.

These are the pieces I literally cannot stop wearing or thinking about.

Capri pants / gauchos (please don’t judge me yet)

I already know some people are going to be like… capris? Seriously? But just trust me for a second. When they’re styled right, they eat.

There’s something about them that feels so clean and put together without doing too much. And gauchos? I’m obsessed.

They’re flowy, they’re comfortable and they make it look like you actually tried with your outfit when you didn’t. I love anything that lets me breathe but still looks cute, and these are exactly that.

Kitten heels (i’m not taking them off)

These have literally become a part of me at this point. I didn’t expect to love them this much, but now I get it.

They’re just so pretty without being extra. Like they elevate everything, but in a quiet way. I can wear them all day, my feet don’t hate me afterward and somehow every outfit just looks more intentional.

I feel like a slightly more put-together version of myself in them, and I love that.

Ponchos (wait… hear me out)

I know this one sounds a little random, but lightweight ponchos in the summer? So underrated.

For nights when it gets a little cooler or when your outfit just feels like it’s missing something, throwing one on changes everything. It adds movement, it adds texture and it makes the whole look feel more styled without trying too hard.

But also… if you’re a little more conscious about your arms sometimes, this is actually perfect. It gives you that slight coverage without feeling heavy or obvious.

It’s not like you’re hiding; it’s more like you’re just adding something that makes you feel more comfortable while still looking dressed up. And I love that.

Vintage coach bags (i’m in love)

There’s just something about a vintage Coach bag that feels so special. Like it’s simple, but it still stands out in the best way.

And what I love the most? You do not have to spend a lot to get one. They’re literally everywhere—thrift stores, flea markets, random little vintage shops, even online resale apps—and a lot of the time they’re actually so affordable. You can find such a good quality bag for a price that makes no sense for how nice it is.

I’ve been reaching for smaller shoulder bags a lot, and they just go with everything. They don’t try too hard, but they pull the whole outfit together. And I love that they feel a little nostalgic… like they already have a story, and now you’re adding your own to it.

Short lounge / activewear sets (for my real life days)

Let’s be real, not every day is a “full outfit” day. Some days, I just want to be comfortable and still look like I have it together.

Matching short sets have been saving me. They’re easy, they’re cute and I don’t have to think. I can just throw it on and go, and somehow it still looks so clean. That’s the best part—like you look put together without actually putting in effort.

It’s giving “I have my life together,” even if you literally just woke up and ran out the door. And honestly, that’s exactly the kind of energy I need in the summer.

Turning A New Leaf

I think what’s been the biggest shift for me is realizing that style isn’t this thing you’re either born with or not. For the longest time, I felt like it was. Like you had to have this specific creative mind to put outfits together, and if you didn’t, you just… didn’t.

Every summer, I was the same. Hoodies, baggy t-shirts, leggings and Crocs. On repeat.

It was easy, and I didn’t really trust myself to do more than that.

But finding pieces like these made it feel so much easier. I don’t have to overthink it or try to be someone I’m not. I just pick things that feel good, that look good together and that make me feel a little more confident when I walk out the door.

And that’s really all I needed to realize.

Style doesn’t have to be complicated. It just has to feel like you.
