Searching For Part-Time Employment Just Got Easier

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at PSU chapter.

With the endless schoolwork and extracurricular activities taking up loads of our time and energy every day, the concept of holding a job in school may seem almost impossible to most students.  However, according to the Campus Job, over 80% of students in the U.S. have a part-time job while in school.  With employers expecting prior work experience before hiring for full-time positions, students are almost required to work part-time jobs in order to really get noticed in the post-college world.

For those of you who are in the 20%, don’t freak out. Seeking part-time employment and obtaining a job that you might actually enjoy may seem impossible, but there is one company who is making things a whole lot easier.

Campus Job is an online marketplace where businesses can find students to hire for part-time jobs during the school year. Founded by recent graduates from the University of Pennsylvania, Liz Wessel and JJ Fliegelman, the company has revolutionized the “college job” marketplace. By consulting companies of all sizes to help find brands campus reps, they are able to create lasting connections between hardworking students and potential employers.

After setting up an account through their site, you will be asked to complete a brief fill in the blank questionnaire outlining exactly how you want to be notified of potential positions. They cover everything from how often you want to get emails to who you want to view your profile, making your experience entirely one-of-a-kind.

The jobs listed on their site include everything from Campus Representative positions and Student Brand Managers to Strategic Marketing Interns posted from retailers such as Modere or even fashion designers like Lauren Nicole.

So what are you waiting for? You’re only one click away from a better resume and a bigger wallet.  Whether you’re doing it to further your future career aspirations or because the window-shopping of downtown State College is just too much to handle, you and I know both know it’s worth a shot.
