Quench Your Irish Thirst

Celebrate this St. Patrick’s Day with a few Irish drinks that are sure to be your new favorites.

Alcoholic drinks

The Dancing Leprechaun

Ingredients:
1 1/2 oz Irish whiskey
3/4 oz Drambuie
3/4 oz lemon juice
Ginger Ale
Twist of Lemon peel

Directions: Mix all of the ingredients in a shaker with ice. After shaken, strain in a glass with ice cubs and place the lemon peel on top for garnish.


Irish Flag

Ingredients:
1/3 oz Bailey’s Irish cream
1/3 oz green creme de menthe
1/3 oz Grand Marnier orange liqueur

Directions: Pour the creme de menthe in a glass, then pour Bailey’s Irish cream, over the back of a spoon, into the same glass. Last, pour the Grand Marnier, again over the back of a spoon, into the same glass as the last two ingredients.

Irish Coffee

Ingredients:
1 cup freshly brewed hot coffee
1-2 teaspoon brown sugar
1 1/2 oz Irish whiskey
Heavy cream

Directions: Mix together the hot coffee, sugar and whiskey in a mug. Then, pour the cream into the mug, over the back of a spoon. Do not stir after added the cream.

Non-alcoholic drinks


Irish Coffee

Ingredients:
2 cups strong coffee
2 tablespoons orange juice
2 teaspoons lemon juice
Whipped cream

Directions: Mix together the hot coffee, orange juice and lemon juice. Then, add the whipped cream to the top.

Emerald Champagne Cocktail

Ingredients:
5 ounces of white sparkling grape juice
1 ounce of non-alcoholic creme de menthe

Directions: Pour the creme de menthe into a glass and then add the sparkling grape juice. Then, stir and enjoy.


Mcdonald’s Shamrock Shake

Ingredients:
3 cups good quality vanilla ice cream
1 3/4 cups 1 percent milk
1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract
Green food coloring, if desired

Directions: Mix all of the ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.
