Valentine’s Day is two weeks away, and I don’t have a boyfriend to celebrate it with. Neither do any of my friends. Considering that it does fall on thirsty Thursday this year, we could just go out to the bars. That did seem like a good idea until we thought about the possibility of being surrounded by drunk couples all over each other. We decided to do things different this year, and celebrate our first galentine’s day. We have been brainstorming and preparing for the past couple of weeks, and this what we came up with.
Candlelight Dinner
Nothing sounds better than a girls night in with food. Preparing a three-course meal where everyone picks a dish to make is the perfect way to go about it. It’s just all in picking the right meal theme for the night.
Décor
Spend the day decorating the house and preparing for the night. Create an ambiance you’ll all love. Light candles throughout the house, hang up hearts/ banners, sprinkle rose petals around, and whatever valentine’s day decorations you can find at target.
Photoshoot
We threw this one together ourselves, but we felt it would be the perfect touch for the night. Set up an area in the house to take some risqué photos. Throw on some lingerie and gather some Valentine’s props.
Gifts
Everyone loves a thoughtful gift. Throw everyone’s name into a hat the week before, and make everyone pick one. It’s like the valentine’s day version of Secret Santa.
