So, like the rest of the college-aged female population, I am an avid pinner. Yes, I am here to earn a degree. But if not for this fantastic website, how would I fill all of those empty spaces in my day? Pinning is the perfect procrastination tool for surviving a boring 100 person lecture, avoiding studying for that dreaded midterm, or compiling lists of things you “should buy” and “will make” (suuuure…). I pin quotes, I pin accessories, I pin crafts, I pin recipes, I pin workouts to try rather than actually working out…there isn’t much that I don’t pin. If I could only meticulously organize my life as well as I have organized my pin boards, I’d really be on to something. Obsessed may be an understatement.

Typically, I spend a lot of time finding things I like the looks of, but rarely follow through with the whole D.I.Y. aspect. So when my best friend slash professional dessert-lover came up to visit PSU, I decided to bite the bullet and try a drool-worthy recipe I had pinned a while back. A white chocolate oreo cake topped with sweet chocolate. Go ahead, soak in the name.

So to follow through with a recipe you find online, the most important aspect is a short and sweet (literally!) list of ingredients. If the recipe is basic, the chances are that you will find almost everything you need in the depths of your cabinet and fridge. This recipe calls for some kitchen staples: sugar, butter, eggs, flour, vanilla, baking powder and salt. Add some sweetened condensed milk, and Hershey’s Cookies ‘n’ Creme chocolate bars, and you, my friend, are in for a real treat.

Directions:

In a saucepan, combine:

6 oz. Hershey’s Cookies ‘n’ Creme Chocolate Candy Bar
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup butter

Now stir all this deliciousness over medium to low heat until it melts together.

Next you’re going to whisk in two lightly beaten eggs and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla.

Add:
1 cup flour
½ teaspoon baking powder
1 pinch of salt

Stir until mixture is incorporated and smooth. Next, pour into greased nine inch spring form pan, and bake at 350°. Read this month’s Cosmo for 20 minutes.

Immediately pour 7 oz. sweetened condensed milk over top of brownies, and layer it with 3/4 cup mini semi-sweet chocolate chips. Let cool, and NOM!

Ta-da! Ooey, gooey, sugary goodness. You are welcome… happy pinning!
