My Staple Clothing Pieces for Early Spring

It’s that time of year again. The temperature is slowly getting warmer, and the sun seems to shine a little brighter. However, it’s still a bit chilly outside, and some days, it rains or even snows.

If you’re anything like me, early spring has you wondering how you’ll dress for the days ahead. But, transitioning your wardrobe for the new weather doesn’t have to be complicated, and it is easier than you might think.

Today, I’m sharing some of my favorite winter-to-spring staple clothing pieces that will carry you through the transition of the seasons.

Light, airy sweaters

These are seriously perfect for early spring days.

I like to layer mine with a tank or long sleeve underneath on chillier days or wear them on their own on warmer days. They can also be dressed up or down. I wear mine with leggings and Uggs to class and jeans and booties on a night out.

My go-to place for sweaters that I can dress up or down would have to be Princess Polly. They have so many versatile styles online, which makes it easier to find one that you love.

Mini rain boots

Early spring means light rain and occasionally snow.

Mini rain boots are a necessary addition to your closet. Because they’re mini, they’re perfect for those rainier or snowier days.

My favorite choices are from Ugg or Hunter Boots. There are so many options available, so take your time to explore them all.

fingerless gloves

I just think these are so chic and fashion-forward. They’re ideal for early spring because they keep your hands at a just-right temperature on days where the weather is just a little cold.

I like to get mine from Amazon, since they’re not too expensive and there’s a lot of versatility.

cropped, light jacket

I love cropped jackets for the early spring because they provide just enough warmth without overheating me.

On days where it’s chilly in the morning and warm in the afternoon, a cropped light jacket is my go-to. I also love mine because it fits in my backpack or tote bag if it gets too warm to keep it on.

There are so many places to find a jacket you love, since they come in all different styles. You can buy an athletic jacket, a dressier jacket, a heavier one for the cold, a jean jacket and so much more. Since there are so many options depending on how you want to dress, the list goes on forever.

Although I love shopping at smaller boutiques, such as These Three Boutique, Lane 201 and Sassy Shortcake, my favorite name brands would have to be Alo and lululemon.

basic long-sleeve t-shirts

These are your best friend during early spring.

They’re so easy to layer under a light, airy sweater (see above), wear with a jacket or cardigan over top or wear alone. My go-to outfit for class during this time of year is a basic long sleeve with yoga pants and Uggs or sneakers, and I usually add my coat or jacket over top on the colder days.

If you’re in the mood to hop on the yoga pants and basic long-sleeve trend, I recommend getting the Ugg’s Women Classic Ultra Mini and a matching long-sleeve top and yoga pants set from Skims.

I also love basic long-sleeves because they can be styled with almost anything.

I hope you are able to take some inspiration from this article and incorporate some of these staples into your early spring wardrobe. Happy spring!
