2021 has gone by just as quickly as it came. It brought about a host of new trends in fashion, beauty and lifestyle.

From Emily Mariko’s salmon bowls to corset tops, the creativity never seemed to stop pouring. I put together some of my favorites and some of my not-so-favorites from this past year.

Expressie nail polish – love

This is one of my favorites by far. This line of polish from Essie sports colors from all over the color wheel, whether bright or dull.

The thinner packaging differentiates it from its sister polishes. I have had issues in the past with other Essie products, particularly with peeling off easily, but these do not suffer at all. I would definitely recommend starting the new year with a signature coat from this line.

Moroccan Argan oil – LOVE

This is a new find of mine. I had always been intrigued by this brand but did not want to shell out the money for it.

That is until I actually tried it.

This does wonders for my dry, curly hair. The winter time does its fair share on my head but this oil provides the best-smelling reprieve. I highly recommend it if you’re looking for light-weight moisture and quite literal effortless shine.

Purezero hair products – LOVE

I was using their shampoo and conditioner for much of 2021. It smells amazing and is so moisturizing when my hair needs a good recharge.

I stopped using it once I went back to school in August since they don’t produce a bulk size. I noticed the difference immediately as my hair began to show its wear and tear.

Going home for break, I used it again and saw an instant improvement. This line is no joke – and at such a cheap price range, it is so worth it!

youth to the people kombucha toner – pass

I got this for my sister for her birthday as she adored this same brand’s facial cleanser. This toner was a huge disappointment.

Although it seemed to really clean the face, the sticky feeling it left behind was just something I can not look past. It is also only suitable for limited uses each week. Be careful with this one.

Stila Liquid Eyeshadow – love

My friend recommended this to me in June and it is now my go-to on a night out.

This eyeshadow, which I use as a liner, gives the perfect pop to any look. It is also super easy to apply. The shine and sparkle make me feel like a real star, as cheesy as it may be. The compliments are also a super nice perk whenever I use it.

GLossier you – love

By far, my absolute favorite find in 2021 was the Glossier You perfume. This perfume is truly unlike any other.

It melts into your skin and personalizes itself to your body. I have gotten too many compliments to count with this one. It is a game-changer and not at a bad price point at all.

While it is available on Amazon, it is cheaper on the Glossier website!

I look forward to my future finds of 2022, and who knows what will be trending in the new year. Hopefully the fashion, beauty and lifestyle trends of 2022 will meet my expectations, because 2021 set the bar pretty high.

I am currently a Junior at Penn State studying Biobehavioral Health. Besides school and writing for Her Campus, I love all kinds of music and am currently learning to play the ukulele! In my free time, I love to play with my dogs as well as watch my favorite shows, New Girl and Glee.
