Gift giving can be complicated and overwhelming if you have a lot of people you’re shopping for, especially during the end of the semester. When it comes to gifts for my friends and roommates, I’m constantly conflicted and out of ideas.
I find it easiest to make “generic” holiday gift bags for friends at school, making the gift giving process much more manageable while also making it special.
Here’s five simple and easy holiday gift bag items for roommates and friends that I plan on using this holiday season.
- Monogrammed Makeup Bag
-
I have been seeing a lot of monogrammed makeup and tote bags online and think they would make a perfect gift. I know I can never have enough makeup bags, and I think the personalized touch makes them that much more special. These are super trendy and easy to design and purchase on platforms such as Etsy or Amazon.Â
These bags would be super cute to use as the gift bags themselves with other items inside, or just by their lonesome. I love these so much, I may also purchase one for myself.Â
- Claw Clips
-
Claw Clips are a generic and useful gift I’m sure any friend would love. I have a million claw clips but am always losing or breaking them, so it’s always nice when gifted more. There are so many different sizes, styles and colors that they never get old.
- Touchland Hand Sanitizer
-
Everyone needs hand sanitizer in their bags, and the different scents make it more fun. It’s not something you’d necessarily buy for yourself, which is why I think it makes a great item in a gift bag. My friends are all obsessed with these which is why I will definitely be including these in their gifts.
I always have a Touchland hand sanitizer with me whether it’s in my purse or school bag. Normal hand sanitizers always dry out my hands and have a funny smell, but not these.
- Lip Balm/Aquaphor
-
Who doesn’t love Aquaphor? I know I always appreciate Aquaphor in a gift bag and can never have enough. It’s one of the most useful gifts in my opinion and I know I am always ecstatic when I find some in my stocking.
If you want to get a little fancier, you can always switch it out Aquaphor with a Summer Friday’s or a Laneige lip balm. A little pricier, but again, always a useful and practical gift that will be consistently put to use.
- Fuzzy Socks/ Blanket
-
Fuzzy socks are a staple Christmas gift item. You can really never go wrong with fuzzy socks and never have enough. It’s a great filler item, as well as easy and cheap to throw in the mix.Â
Instead of fuzzy socks, you could also get a fuzzy blanket, which is always a hit. Nothing beats a cozy and comfy gift for the cold winter months.
These are my last-minute holiday gift bag items that I plan on including in my friends gifts this winter. I hope you find these suggestions useful when assembling your friends and roommate’s gifts. Happy Holidays!
