Theydies, ladies, and gentlemen let’s talk about movies. I am going to admit it, I’m incredibly basic when it comes to the movies I have seen. Not only that, but I’m equally as generic when it comes to the movies I like. Nevertheless I think my movie taste is simply exquisite and no one can tell me otherwise! Here are some movies I recommend/ live with my heart and soul. Also I’m going to warn you, you’ve probably already seen all of these. If you haven’t though, you are seriously missing out and you have some work to do!

Bring It On (2000)

Was I a cheerleader? Yes. Was it anything like this movie? No. But I can’t express how much this movie shaped who I am. Literally don’t ask me because I can’t explain it. Watching anything about cheer makes me want to recoil but this movie is so amazing it makes me want to cheer. Kirsten Dunst and Gabrielle Union hold too much power over me!

Legally Blonde (2001)

Classic. I mean I genuinely think that’s all I can really say about this one. I felt weird about putting this one on the list cause, you know who hasn’t seen this. But there’s always that weirdo who hasn’t. I hate saying this, but it’s iconic! If you haven’t seen this stop what you’re doing and give it a gander. You can thank me later! Imagine being the person who introduced someone to this movie, what a gift.

What a Girl Wants

This is probably my favorite movie on this list if I’m being honest. I watch this maybe a little too much. Amanda Bynes in England with Colin Firth as her dad! What beats that? Nothing is what you should be thinking. I think about this movie about 3 times a week… like it’s that good! It’s your typical teen finds out she’s royalty, type beat. So you know, relatable!

Freaky Friday (2003)

Chef’s kiss for this one! I absolutely adore Lindsay Lohan and of course Jamie Lee Curtis. Halloween to Freaky Friday to Knives Out, that woman is just hit after hit! This is about a daughter who doesn’t get her mom and a mom who doesn’t get her daughter. Why am I explaining this to you? Because it’s a trope but I’m going to let you in on a little secret… I love movie tropes! Now you tell me does that make me the worst?

Mean Girls (2004)

Wednesdays have never been the same since this one. I honestly feel like this is probably one of the most quoted movies of all time. My roommate has Mean Girls themed Toaster Strudels like how have you not seen this?! The only acceptable answer is that you’re a baby… sorry I don’t make the rules!

13 Going On 30

Now I feel like this is an actual suggestion because I’m surprised at how many people actually haven’t seen this. When I saw this it rocked my world. Now it’s not necessarily because the story is amazing or the acting is phenomenal. I used to strongly dislike Mark Ruffalo for unrelated reasons and this movie completely changed that. I adore him now and I think he deserves all the happiness in the world! If a movie can do that to you it has to be fantastic, right? Please watch this because it’s so cute!

A Cinderella Story (2004)

Hillary Duff in her white Cinderella dress changed me as a person. This was one of the first movies I watched, and it’s so good! I will again be shook to my core if you haven’t seen it, but hey there’s still time! When Sam (Hillary Duff) gives her speech in the locker room— you know the one, it was breathtaking! Waiting for you to watch this movie is like waiting for rain in this drought, useless and disappointing.

The Devil Wears Prada (2006)

This is probably one of the greatest movies I’ve ever seen. I guess having an absolutely delicious cast like Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci can really make a classic movie! The story, the acting, the music— all of it is so great. This movie is fantastic. If you haven’t seen it in a while or have never seen it, please do!

John Tucker Must Die (2006)

I watched John Tucker Must Die for the first time in eighth grade. I kid you not, the next day I invited my friends over so they could watch it because of how incredible it was. I had to share this masterpiece! Women ganging up to ruin a man who did them all dirty is my favorite kind of movie so this obviously was going to make the list.

Step Up Movies (2006)

I am so incredibly mad that I don’t know how to dance! The Step Up Movies are all impeccable and even more so the ones with Moose. He’s so handsome— and he can dance! I feel like these aren’t as popular as the other movies on the list, but nonetheless you’re still missing out if you haven’t seen them. Please go watch these and if you want to see the love of my life start with Step Up 2: The Streets!

Hey, like I said earlier if you’re a normal human being and don’t live under a rock you’ve probably seen these movies. I applaud you for that! But if you read this and a single movie has been missed you need to get on it ASAP. It’s for your own good! Also you’re welcome!
