Name: Alex Baukus
Year: Junior
Major: Biobehavioral Health
Hometown: State College
Job: Emergency medical technician (EMT) for the Penn State University Ambulance Service (UAS).Â
What’s the longest shift you’ve ever worked?
Usually the shifts are 10 to 15 hours, but I’ve worked two back to back, so the longest would be 24 hours.
What’s your favorite part of the working as an EMT?
Getting to talk to the people. It can be really entertaining hearing their side of the story.
What have you found is the craziest time to work?
Working football games is always crazy, especially the Michigan State game this year. It’s always really hectic because compared to the calls we get we don’t have enough people working.Â
What are your post-Penn State plans?
I want to go to medicial school, but I don’t know where yet.
What’s your favorite show?
I’m going to go with Cops.
