Meet Bobby Walter. He is a sophomore from State College double majoring in marketing and French and is the PR director for Homecoming 2012. Learn more about what Bobby’s responsibilities are as PR director and more about him below.
HC: What are your responsibilities as PR director for Homecoming?
Bobby: Being the PR director, I do all of the promotion for all of the events during homecoming week, create the ads, manage the social media sites and stay in touch with the press.
HC: Why did you join Homecoming? What are you most looking forward to during Homecoming season?
Bobby: I initially joined Homecoming because I wanted to try something new. I had a great time with my co-captains and homecoming week was one of the craziest but rewarding weeks of my life. It’s fun. Pure fun. This year, I’m looking forward to creating some fun, unique, new ways to promote homecoming and get a lot more people involved. I can’t wait to plan the homecoming concert and the biggest homecoming parade in the country.
HC: ?If you could have any job in any part of the world, what job would you have and why?
Bobby: If I could have any job, I would choose to be a goat farmer in the south of France. Or maybe sheep. Either way, I’d love to live on a big piece of land in a big stone house with a pool and a tennis court, play with my goats (or sheep) and other pets, drink a lot of wine, eat everything and be tan. Also, I’d be Beyoncé’s best friend because that would be a cool job too.
?HC: Something people would be surprised to know about me is…
Bobby: Something that people would be surprised to know about me is that I’m the fifth. As in Robert Walter V—it’s an old family name. It’s useful because I can put a V next to my name on my resume and people automatically think I’m a lot smarter than I actually am.
