American Horror Story: Things Get Freaky at the Freak Show

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at PSU chapter.

If you’re anything like me, you’ve been anxiously waiting for this day to come and you haven’t quite known what to do with yourself on Wednesday nights for the past eight months.  American Horror Story season one left us craving more.  You almost couldn’t face the mere thought of having to live in season two’s Asylum (all puns intended).  Envy was felt as you watched the witches in the Coven use their powers, for good or evil, in search of the Supreme in season three.  American Horror Story: Freak Show has the spotlight now and the curtains opened last night at 10 P.M.

Ryan Murphy didn’t disappoint with this season’s AHS premiere.  From the conjoined sisters, Bette and Dot, to Twisty the killer clown and everyone in between, they all have their own unique abnormality that makes them intriguing freaks to everyone outside of the tent.  Don’t be fooled, even those who may appear to be ‘normal’ have something they keep hidden in the depths of their souls.

Has this freak show found its home in Jupiter, Florida?  I certainly know what I will be doing every Wednesday night.  Will you be joining me?  “We are all freaks” after all…

Rachael enjoys anything media related especially catching up on her favorite shows, including Saturday Night Live and any show on Food Network. She has a passion for food but also loves being active and spending her free time running or hiking. She hopes to gain more experience in all aspects of the media industry during college and plans on pursuing a career writing for a life & style publication in the future.
