Name: Alex Freeman
Year: Junior
Hometown: Wyckoff, N.J.
Major: Broadcast Journalism

HC:  What is your favorite hobby/ thing to do in your spare time?

Alex: I want to get into sports journalism so if I’m not watching sports, I try to stay active by playing them- normally basketball or depending on the weather, I’ll play tennis. My roommates and I also try to find a new TV show to follow, so when I can I’ll be keeping up with that. Right now we’re on The Wire.

HC: What’s the most embarrassing thing you’ve ever done in front of a girl?

Alex: To get a girl’s attention and on a dare, I attempted to serenade her by singing The Righteous Brother’s song, “Unchained Melody”… I can’t exactly sing.

HC: What are the top three qualities you look for in a potential love interest?

Alex: Sense of humor is a big thing- has to make me laugh and of course laugh at my jokes. Confident, but with a level head so she doesn’t think she’s better than the rest of the world. And a girl with aspirations is huge, nice to see a girl with goals and some idea of what she wants to do.

HC: What is your biggest pet peeve?

Alex: Can’t stand a liar, honesty is a virtue. Also people who say “jawn” for EVERYTHING.

HC:  Where would you take a girl on a date in State College?

Alex: Would depend on the girl and the occasion. Always thought Green Bowl is a nice easy place to get dinner. You can never go wrong with Rotelli’s or Allen Street Grill though.

My name is Simone Roseanne Paklaian. I'm a junior at Penn State who loves fashion, music and living a worry free life.
Born and raised by two Nittany Lions, Rachel continued the tradition by attending Penn State University in the fall of 2009. Currently a senior journalism major, Rachel also spends her time minoring in both psychology and Spanish. During her sophomore year she wrote for the Greek newspaper at Penn State as a member of Alpha Xi Delta, followed by joining the Her Campus team as a writer and the Public Relations/Social Media Manager in the fall of her junior year. In search of mastering the Spanish language, Rachel indulged herself in the country of Spain for five months while she studied abroad in the city of Alicante during the spring of 2012. In order to keep her English up to par, Rachel blogged about her experiences for both her personal account and Her Campus at Penn State. With a love for shoes, smiles, and a good bowl of mac and cheese, this social media fiend never leaves her twitter by its lonesome.
