It has been announced that WarnerMedia’s new streaming service, HBO Max, will debut in May with not only all of the episodes of the show Friends, but also an unscripted reunion special. This news is obviously very exciting, as the show was taken off of Netflix in January. In honor of the announcement, here is my list of the eight funniest episodes of Friends, organized sequentially.

The One After The Superbowl (Season 2, episodes 12 and 13)

This two part episode, which originally aired as an hour long episode after the 1996 Super Bowl, is super funny. It follows Ross as he’s reunited with his monkey, Marcel, on a film set. With numerous subplots and a ton of famous guest stars, like Brooke Shields and Julia Roberts, the group’s antics make for an unforgettable episode.

The One Where Eddie Won’t Go (Season 2, episode 19)

In The One Where Eddie Won’t Go, Chandler repeatedly tries to make his new roommate, Eddie, leave after he discovers that Eddie is very unstable. Meanwhile, the girls discover a self-help book and decide to live by it word-for-word.

The One Where Monica and Richard Are Just Friends (Season 3, episode 13)

In this episode, Monica and Richard run into each other in a video store and unsuccessfully try to pursue a platonic relationship. Meanwhile, Phoebe is dating a man who doesn’t realize he is flashing people with his loose shorts. Also, follow Joey and Rachel as they decide to read each other’s favorite books.

The One With The Embryos (Season 4, episode 12)

In The One With the Embryos, Phoebe is away at the doctor’s getting artificially inseminated. While she’s away, the rest of the group participates in an intense trivia game based on how well the group knows each other. Ross serves as the question-writer and the judge of the high-stakes game, which makes for a hilarious episode.

The One With All The Wedding Dresses (Season 4, episode 20)

In this episode, Monica goes up to pick up a wedding dress for Emily, Ross’s fiance. When the owner mistakes Monica for Emily, Monica proceeds to try on the dress. Then, the episode follows as all the girls try on wedding dresses and wear them around the apartment. As a subplot, Joey visits a sleep clinic after his sleeping pattern drives Chandler crazy.

The One With All The Thanksgivings (Season 5, episode 8)

This episode follows the group as they reflect on their worst Thanksgivings, with the best flashbacks of the show. Plus, there is a scene where Monica wears a turkey on her head, so it is definitely a must-watch.

The One Where Everybody Finds Out (Season 5, episode 14)

In The One Where Everybody Finds Out, Ross and Phoebe discover Monica and Chandler’s relationship. When Phoebe finds out, she decides to flirt with Chandler in order to provoke the couple into confessing their secret relationship and the antics that ensue are really funny.

The One With Joey’s New Brain (Season 7, episode 15)

This episode is named to represent the main plot of the episode, Joey reprising his Days of Our Lives role after his character, Dr. Drake Ramoray, receives a brain transplant. The subplot, however, involves Ross trying to convince Monica and Chandler to let him play the bagpipes in their wedding, which is what makes the episode that much more entertaining.
