I know the struggle of trying to find a new TV show to watch on Netflix. With its wide variety of shows, it might be overwhelming to choose one, so here are some of my personal favorites to help you make this decision:

1. Dynasty (2017-)

Based on the 80s soap opera of the same name, Dynasty follows the dramatic lives of a very rich family in Atlanta who own one of the largest oil companies in the country. If you like Gossip Girl, then you’ll love Dynasty because it has a similar take on drama and fashion. What I really love about this remake, though, is the diversity of topics and culture that it touches on, like the economic crisis in Venezuela. There’s currently one season on Netflix, and I highly encourage you to watch it.

2. Elite (2018-)

This is the one of the newer TV shows on this list – it just premiered this past October on Netflix and currently has 13 episodes. Elite is a Spanish show that centers on the murder of one of the students in a very prestigious high school in Spain. Throughout the show, they show flashbacks of all of the events that lead up to the murder as the teenagers are being investigated by the police. If you like murder mysteries and drama, then this TV show will be perfect for you; every episode is just as intriguing as the next and you won’t want to stop watching until you find out who the murderer is.

3. Bates Motel (2013-2017)

This is by far my favorite show on the list. Not only does it have great acting, but the suspense in this show is fantastic because there’s always some sort of crime or drama going on. Bates Motel is a prequel of the Hitchcock classic “Psycho.” It follows the life of Norman Bates as a teenager and focuses mainly on his relationship with his mother, Norma, as they deal with mysterious discoveries when they buy an abandoned motel in a small town in Oregon. What I love about this show is the character development and how well you get to know them throughout the show. All five seasons of Bates Motel are currently on Netflix, so start binging!

4. Reign (2013-2017)

This is another TV show that currently has all its seasons on Netflix. It tells the story of young Mary Queen of Scots as she struggles with handling both her romantic life and being a good queen. Although this show isn’t historically accurate, the drama and interesting plot lines are what make it so enjoyable to watch – not to mention the gorgeous outfits. If you’re looking to watch a very dramatic show with beautiful shots and landscapes, Reign is the show for you, as it’s set in 15th century France and it features beautiful castles and mountains that will make you want to go back in time.

5. Money Heist (2017-)

This is another Spanish show, and it involves a mastermind who goes by the name of “The Professor” who plans an elaborate scheme to perform the biggest money heist in the history of the world. He recruits seven people to help him achieve his plan of breaking into the Royal Mint of Spain and printing out 2.4 billion Euros, so this is a great show to watch if you’re more into action and thriller. It currently has 15 episodes up on Netflix, and it’s so good you’ll want to watch them all in one day!

Happy watching, collegiettes!
