It’s that time of year, collegiettes. While some people may be spending their Valentine’s Day out with their significant other, some of us will be forming an in-depth relationship with Ben & Jerry. Though there is no shame in doing that this year, how nice would it be to not sulk on the couch alone? We might have found a solution for that. Centre County PAWS is a non-euthanasia organization that is focused on finding the amazing animals in Centre County their rightfully deserved “forever homes.” What better way to cure your sadness than to cuddle up with a new dog or cat? Well, we’ve put together a little list of potential pets who can be your Valentine this year (and every year after that)!

1. Becky

Meet Becky! Becky is a 13-year-old Yorkshire Terrier who loves to be around people. She’s only 17 lbs. of pure love, and she’s housebroken (if you’re a dog person, you know this is a definite plus)! If her posing in this sweater isn’t enough to melt your heart, we don’t know what is. You can find out more about Becky here.

2. Boo Boo

Boo Boo is a 12-year-old male black ticket tabby whose life has truly been changed by the people at PAWS. He showed up with matted hair and in need of dental and eye care. After PAWS took him under their wing, he was nurtured back to health and has really shown just how much of a loving guy he is! He’s curious and lets you know when he wants attention (sound familiar, collegiettes?). What more could you want in a pet? To add to the appeal, a PAWS Guardian Angel has already taken care of his adoption fee! For more information on this sweet little guy, check out his page here.

3. Duke

This sweetheart, Duke, is a 2-year-old Lab, Chow Chow and Pitbull mix who adores other dogs! He’s 52 lbs. of handsome and will be neutered before adoption. What more could you need than this sweet guy to keep you company each Valentine’s Day? For more information, check out his page here.

4. Tatiana

This lovely lady here is Tatiana. She’s a spayed, domestic, medium-hair, brown and black tabby, and it’s almost her second birthday! She was a stray cat who thankfully has found a loving environment with PAWS. Tatiana needs extra care and would flourish best in a home without any other cats due to the fact that she has the feline leukemia virus (but she is able to go to a home with dogs or other cats with feline leukemia). She needs regular wellness checks, but thankfully a PAWS Guardian Angel paid for her adoption fee already. She’d be the perfect best friend to lay back and cuddle with on any day – not just Valentine’s Day! You can find more info on Tatiana here.

5. Elaine

Elaine is a sweet little girl who is super excited to find a forever home! She would work well in a family of adults but also likes other dogs. She even knows how to sit and shake on command and is housebroken! She currently lives at the PAWS center and would love to have visitors. For more info on this cutie, you can find her page here.

6. Addie

Addie is a sweet 4-month-old kitten who is available for adoption at PAWS. She’s a super playful and spayed, domestic, shorthair and brown tabby with white fur! She is easily amused with the simplest toys. Have a leftover box from your textbook order? She loves to play in them! Go through water bottles like it’s your job? They’re one of her favorite toys! You can find out more about this little cutie here.

7. Dollie

Look at that face! Dollie is a 2-month-old English Bulldog mix that weighs a whopping seven lbs.! She’s an extremely sweet puppy who works well with other pets and even children. Since she is still a baby, she’s not yet housebroken. But, with a little love and support, she will definitely be able to tackle those tasks. She’s currently living at a foster home but would love for you to come and visit her! You can find out more about this little sweetheart here.

8. Cornelius

This handsome little guy is Cornelius! Cornelius is a male orange tabby mix who gets along well with other cats! He’s a little over a year old and is relatively shy but very sweet (we’re sure he’d love to cuddle up with you anytime you’d like). His adoption fee has been paid for by his PAWS Guardian Angel, and he’s ready to find a forever home! For more information, check out his page here.

9. Sunny

This bright light right here is Sunny! Sunny is a Catahoula Leopard Dog and Border Collie mix. She is only a little bit over two months old and is very good around other dogs, cats and even children. Since she’s still a baby, she’s not quite crate-trained or housebroken, but that face just screams that she’ll be the perfect companion on any day of the year. To find out more information about this sweetheart, check out her page here!

10. Nero

Look at this sweet face! Meet Nero, a 5-year-old neutered black and brown tabby mix! He loves to be cuddled and absolutely adores people! This makes him the perfect date for every Valentine’s Day from here on out! He does have the feline immunodeficiency virus, which means he should live in a home without other cats. He would love to be loved by you, and you won’t regret adding this lovable boy into your family. For more information on Nero, please check out his page here.

11. Pork Chop

The affectionately named Pork Chop is a 5-year-old Corgi mix! He was found as a stray and is looking for a loving and affectionate adult family to give him the forever home he’s always dreamed of. His shiny fur and endearing eyes make him look like the perfect plus one for all of your family events. Find out more info on Pork Chop here.

12. Jazzy

This beauty here is Jazzy! She is a 3 1/2-year-old domestic longhair tabby, who would do very well with other nice cats. She’s super playful and loves to brighten up anyone’s day. PAWS is hoping to adopt her into a family with other cats in it because they believe she functions best when around others. She’d love to become a new member to your loving cat family. For more info, you can look at her page here.

13. Cheyenne

Cheyenne is a beautiful 2-year-old Pitbull mix! She loves to play but also loves to cuddle whenever you’d like. She loves exploring and playing outside. She’s crate-trained, housebroken and gets along very well with others. She’s still got the playful puppy spirit and would love to live in a forever home that plays plenty of fetch. There will never be a dull moment with this sweetheart. You can find out more about her here.

14. MacGyver

This wide-eyed cutie is MacGyver! He is a domestic, shorthair tabby that will be a year old in March. This sweetie was brought in as a stray and has already been through quite a lot in his few months of life. The poor thing was hit by a car but appears to have completely overcome the injuries and is doing much better! He’s such a happy kitten and would love to be with someone who will play and cuddle with him when it’s time for bed. He’d be the perfect addition to all of your movie nights. For more info on MacGyver, check out his page here.

Disclaimer: While we actively support adoption, please seriously consider the responsibility of caring for a pet before you adopt. Many animals are purchased or adopted only to be put up for adoption again due to someone finding that the commitment of having a pet is more than they signed up for. We know you won’t regret adopting these babies, but please try to be fair to them if you aren’t sure you can handle having a pet.

If you can’t commit to adopting a pet at this time, there are still ways you can help to better their lives! PAWS allows you to pay for an adoptable animal’s adoption fee, sponsor an animal and to volunteer with the organization. Any help is something the animals and people of PAWS would greatly appreciate!
