How to Start your Summer Break

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at PS Berks chapter.

What are you supposed to do with yourself once you go home?

For me, it takes a week or two to be able to relax. I don’t know what to do with myself and it shows. I keep walking around the house and I’m not content to do anything. When you’re used to writing at least four articles a week besides other things, it’s a hard adjustment to make.

Go easy on yourself

It’s okay. Maybe you did great in school, maybe you didn’t do so great.  It doesn’t matter. What’s done is done. All you can do is move forward.

Take some time for yourself

Relax. You just ran a marathon for a few months. Even if you’re working, take time for yourself. Don’t overload your schedule just yet if you don’t have to. Go on a walk, pet your dog (or any dog you find), or read a book. Take some time to evaluate what relationships make you feel good. Think about anything that you’d like to work on in the future. Let go of the past semester, it’s over; it’s not coming back, ever.

Glad you made it to the end of the semester! Happy Summer!
