I’m about a third of the way done with The Season. Here’s what I think about it so far:
- It reminds me of Dallas
Dallas was a TV show, mainly in the ‘80’s. It was about Texans who had an oil company. This book is set on a big piece of land, but the oil people are coming. I peeked.
- Megan might not pull herself together.
The main character, Megan, plays soccer and is being forced into being a debutante. She bikes to meetings and had a black eye and a split lip from soccer at one of the balls. The person in charge wants to kick her out.
- Her mother has to become an interesting plot point
Her mom is dangling on the cast of characters. She doesn’t seem to have anything to do besides force Megan and her sister, Julia, into balls. She made her deb as well, but I’m not getting the motivation behind her. She seems like a one-note character but I hope she will evolve into more.
That’s what I think! Leave a comment below if there’s a book you’d like to see my review!
