Traveling is the one thing that will always help you, even slightly better, understand other cultures. It can allow you to understand why people from other countries react in certain ways to certain events that happen in the U.S. For that short period of time you put all differences aside and realize that we are all human and therefore owe each other the decency of respecting each other.
Reasons to travel:
1. It opens your eyes to see the world in a new way. Every little thing you see when you travel, you take it in an appreciate it. Whether it’s a flower in a little garden in Paris or a child playing on the streets of Thailand.
2. Traveling helps you discover yourself. One of the best ways to learn who you are is going to a foreign country and seeing how you react in different situations with different people.
3. Traveling helps create meaningful relationships with people you otherwise wouldn’t have met. You get to meet individuals from all parts of the world and learn about their cultures whilst experiencing other civilizations firsthand.
4. Traveling also helps you discover skills you never knew you had. For example, you could be in Germany and discover you can use the train to get to different places without even knowing the native language.
5. Traveling challenges your taste buds, you’ll never know what another countries genuine cuisine is like until you actually try it in said country.
6. Traveling let’s you get a glimpse of new languages. You may even find yourself saying a few words in Italian, Czech, French or any other country you travel to once you leave!
7. Traveling gives you the chance to be adventurous. It gives you the chance to try and do new things that you normally wouldn’t have the opportunity to, like watching a sex show in Amsterdam or skydiving with a view of the Alps.
8. Traveling gives you unforgettable stories, like nearly getting run over riding a bike in Amsterdam, getting followed in Prague, and so many more that you will cherish forever.
9. Traveling provides you with education you cannot learn at school because not only do you learn about other countries, you also learn about life.
So travel until your heart’s content, although, with how much is out there in the world it may never truly be.
