Winter is in full throttle. To play on a quote from our favorite snow queen, Elsa, “The wind is howling like this swirling storm inside (of Penn State Behrend).”  This kingdom of isolation has everyone bundled up to bare the blustery winds. While winter gear does not typically scream fashionable, we Collegiettes are determined to feel warm and look great. I think this calls for a makeover, well, at least for your boots.

With the harsh winter weather conditions, it can be hard to look stylish while trucking through the Mount-Everest-sized piles of snow to class.  Hopefully by now, you’ve caught on that winter boots should be a staple to your closest, especially if, like us, you go to school anywhere near a snow belt.

Praise the fashion Gods for thermal socks and leg warmers, because they are making a comeback to a closet near you. Thermal socks give your feet extra warmth, and look cute too- talk about perfection. Who doesn’t want to feel comfortable and look fabulous?

The popular boots worn around campus differ from Hunter boots to L.L. Bean boots. While these boots will definitely assure that your feet stay dry, sometimes they don’t keep you the warmest, that’s why, this winter, leg warmers will be your best friend. Leg warmers can be purchased online at Etsy.com or even in stores such as Target, and can be found in a variety of colors, patterns and styles and will provide you with the strength you need to head out into the tundra of Behrend.

So let the storm rage on because the cold never bothered us anyway. Okay, well maybe it does bother us a little (or a lot), but at least we know we can face it in style!
