Katelyn Reisenauer: This week’s profile is a dedicated student and a superb friend! We are so honored to feature Katelyn.

Year: Senior

Major: General Biology

Hometown: Cambridge Springs

Relationship status: Currently accepting applications!!!

What are your plans for after graduation?

“I will be attending Lock Haven University’s Physician Assistant program in May!”

Why did you decide to become a Physician Assistant?

“I originally started out in Biomedical Engineering at RIT, but I realized I wanted to deal directly with patients, so I transferred to Behrend and switched to pre-med. I ultimately decided on a PA program because I wanted a flexible schedule; I plan on having some babies.”

What has been your most rewarding experience at Behrend?

“Hmm… I don’t know. Probably that I’ve built some really great relationships with my professors.”

If you could give your freshman-self one piece of advice what would it be and why?

“I would tell myself to appreciate the easiness of freshman year and go on more adventures. I made it out to be the hardest time of my life, when in reality it was cake.”

If you weren’t going to be a PA, what would be your dream job?

“I would love to get my PhD and become a professor and get into some bomb-ass research.”

Finally, if you were to appear on a talk show, what song would you walk out to?

“Oh, tough one! The part of “Girls Just Want to Have Fun” that goes: ‘Some boys take a beautiful girl and hide her away from the rest of the world. I want to be the one to walk in the sun, oh, girls they want to have fun.'”
