It’s that time of year again, Collegiettes! Fall has fallen upon us yet again, which means that it is once again time to bust out the cozy sweaters and hop in line at Starbucks for a PSL. This also means that it’s officially time to trade in beach days for pumpkin patches. But don’t worry, although Erie is known for it’s beautiful summer sunsets, there are still things to do this fall. Keep reading if you want to know what you can do while you procrastinate all of your homework.
1. Pumpkin Patch: Everyone loves a good pumpkin patch. Head out to Port Farms in Waterford, PA for a fun filled afternoon packed with corn mazes, a hayride, and finish by picking up the perfect pumpkin for carving!
2. Peek’n Peak’s Fall Fest: Located in Clymer, NY (it’s less than a half hour from campus) to check out Peek’n Peak’s 29th Annual Fall Fest. There will be crafts for sale as well as hundreds of other kinds of vendors. It’s free to get in, the drive is beautiful, and there will definitely be plenty of opportunities to take a cute picture or 12!
3. Coffee Shops: We’re not just talking about a regular trip to get your coffee fix. Check out Foursquare for some local coffee shops. Not only will you be supporting a local business, but it will also be so much better than waiting in line at a Starbucks. Grab some friends and catch up on life or catch up on homework while you sip on a hot coffee. We recommend the Boston Bean Cafe in North East!
4. Seaway Trail: If you’re into relaxing drives and looking at the changing leaves, definitely consider driving up the Seaway Trail. It goes along Lake Erie all the way up to Lake Ontario in Upstate New York.
No matter what you decide to do this fall, we know you’ll have a blast doing all of your favorite fall things will munching on all of your favorite fall treats. Happy fall, Collegiettes! HCXO
