The Best Way to Style an Oversized T-shirt This Fall

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Providence chapter.

Oversized t-shirts have become very trendy over the past few years. This versatile clothing item can be worn any season and anywhere when styled appropriately. Here are several of the best ways to style an oversized t-shirt this fall to ensure that your fall style is trendy, yet comfortable!

The first easy way to style an oversized t-shirt is casual with sweatpants. When the fall weather rolls around, there is nothing better than dressing comfy, but cute. However, the fall weather can sometimes be unpredictable. Often the mornings start off chilly, but the temperature increases as the sun come out, causing people to overheat by the time the afternoon rolls around. Pairing an oversized t-shirt with sweatshirts is the perfect way to ensure that you aren’t too hot or too cold but still ensures you a cute and fashionable look. To take this outfit a step further, you can throw on a pair of platform sneakers and you will be all ready for the day.

The second way to style an oversized t-shirt is semi-formally with jeans and a long-sleeve turtleneck underneath. Personally, this is my favorite way to style an oversized tee for the fall! Whether you wear skinny jeans, mom jeans, or bootcut jeans, pairing an oversized t-shirt with jeans never fails to look cute, especially with a long sleeve turtleneck underneath. This outfit would be perfect for those fall days where it is chillier and brisker out, but not cold enough where you need a winter jacket. Sizing an oversized t-shirt with a turtleneck and jeans can make you feel cute and confident with little to no effort!

The third and final way to style an oversized t-shirt this fall is more formally with a skirt and boots. For those fall days when you need to attend a more formal event, tucking an oversized t-shirt into a skirt, and wearing boots, is a trendy way to dress yourself up. Whether you choose to wear a jean skirt, leather skirt, or a long satin skirt, tucking in an oversized t-shirt can never fail you! Several options for boots can include short leather booties, Dr. Martens, or combat boots. To spice this outfit up even more and to keep yourself warmer this fall, you can combine this look with a cute pair of winter socks that stick out at the top of your boots and you will be ready to take on anything that comes your way!
