Meet Her Campus Princeton Summer Slimdown Blogger: Diamond!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Princeton chapter.

Welcome!

My name is Diamond Wheeler, and yes, I am 100% Chinese despite the confusing name. This summer I will be a full time lab rat, but I am hoping to stay fit and eat healthy while culturing my E. Coli. During the fall and part of the spring, I fence for my college. If you don’t know what that is, I don’t blame you, it is an obscure sport where you get to beat people with metal sticks (it’s fun, I promise). For 5 months out of the year, I fence everyday and that’s basically is my workout routine. However, during the other 7 months of the year I have to drag my butt to the gym or find some alternative exercise. There is usually a transition period after my season ends, where I keep eating like I’m in season but don’t work out… You can guess what that leads to: an out of shape and unhappy Diamond.

To whip myself back into shape, I have been putting together quick and easy whole-body workouts to fit into a busy college schedule, as well as compiling quick and healthy meals (for those of you that cook for yourselves). Join me as a fumble in the kitchen and grunt my way back into shape.
