Farrah: Moderation

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Princeton chapter.
Hi there!

Since I have been in Brazil, all I have been (essentially) eating is rice, beans, meat, and a side salad. I have tried to make sure I get a little more salad and less rice and beans. Although this sounds small, it’s important to learn portion control in order to eat unhealthy foods in moderation…and I think it is working! I put on a pair of jeans this morning, and they felt a little looser. Not too bad for someone who has just been watching her eating habits and walking around!

I also find myself craving salads now and stopping myself before I overeat, which I think is a result of thinking about what I am eating and trying to feed myself fresher and healthier foods. My body is slowly adjusting! I cannot wait to see the results when I combine my healthier eating habits with exercise!
