Ajibike: Looking for Motivation

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Princeton chapter.

After a day in lab (which is often 8:30AM – 6PM), I’m exhausted. Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love my research and my lab (shout out to Team Hughson) and of course Diamond (HCXO) but it is extremely easy to end the day and begin the walk to my house; after all, I have to cook dinner. Or, I have to buy groceries. Or the simplest excuse: the gym is in the opposite direction.

I give myself some slack if I am actually just physically exhausted or just too sore, but I have found that the best way to keep me on track is to just have an amazing playlist that I am excited to listen to at the gym. I try not to listen to music when I am not at the gym or not walking to or from the lab; music, is my motivation and reward for my workouts.

I change my workout playlist on a regular basis but I wanted to share with you guys what has me motivated lately.

The Playlist
A Little Party Never Killed Nobody — Fergie, Q-Tip, GoonRock
