Cathedral Coffee: Not even a mile and half away from campus, Cathedral Coffee provides the perfect atmoshpere for an enjoyable study environment. With great drinks in handmade ceramic mugs, this place could not be cooler. Shelves of books that are open for the public to borrow provide a cozy setting where you can bunker down and write that essay or article (I may or may not be here right now.) When the weather’s nice the walls roll up to get some fresh air so that you get some fresh ideas going. Two thumbs up for this great spot.
Arbor Lodge: Right on Rosa Parks and N. Interstate this is a perfect place to get those creative juices flowing. With a cozy interior, Arbor Lodge serves as one of the top hangout places for students to hit the books. Serving local coffee and tea, Arbor Lodge has a great selection of drinks that will give you that extra boost of energy to get through studying for that biology exam.
Barists: With three locations, Alberta Street, Pearl District and Downtown this cool joint has more of a refined feel. If you’re a coffee fanatic and the sweet aroma alone doesn’t lure you in, then the ability to choose your beans from your favorite roaster sure will!
Case Study Coffee: All right confession: I haven’t been here, but I walked by it today on Alberta Street and with one glance through the windows I immediately promised myself to study there soon. The word study is in the name! It has to be good! A sweet atmosphere and a second level balcony to get your homework done and maybe do some people watching, would make for the perfect study spot. This might be my new place.
Anna Banana’s: Check out their menu! With a location in St. John’s and on Alberta Street, there is no excuse to not go here. Seriously, there are so many possibilities for drinks, I think the last drink I got there had the words “marionberry” and “hoopla” in the title, you can’t beat that. The small lights around the room add to the ambience of making the perfect study zone.
