The older you get at Pomona, the more you feel the urge to go off campus and explore other options besides the famous Frary cuisine and the plentiful, or not so plentiful, beer at Pub. We did some research, talked to some business owners and came up with a list of local bars and restaurants that offer student-friendly deals to bring variety to your life without emptying your pocket.

MONDAY
Start the week off with a delicious and healthy sandwich from Dr. Grubb’s. All students get $1 off any purchase with student ID. Claremont Cash is also accepted. *
For a cheap bite later in the day, stop by the Cheese Cave for half-off sandwiches after 5pm. *
Thirsty? Choose between Walter’s student discount of $2 off any drink with ID and a generous Happy Hour at Harvard Square, where from 8-9PM you can sip on $4 wine, $3 beer & $4 well drinks. *
TUESDAY
Head over to Espiau’s for scrumptious street tacos and specials on drinks from 5-9PM. If you get there on the earlier side, you can catch the Happy Hour they have Monday – Thursday from 3-6PM.

WEDNESDAY

If Pub is not your scene, Walter’s will gladly serve you $3 Margaritas, $3 Sangria & $3 Afgan Fries every Wednesday and Thrusday, a deal rivaled only by The Press, where all wines by the bottle are 50% off on Wednesdays from 11AM till closing time.
THURSDAY
Make your way to Espiau’s on Thursday night from 8PM till closing time to enjoy drink specials for Thirsty Thursday. From 7-9PM, catch Roderick the Magician for some fun magic tricks.
Thursday is also College Night at La Piccoletta: the $10 dinner menu includes pasta, salad & drink (the pasta is delightful!)
Later in the night, head to The Press to chill with half the senior class and enjoy Happy Hour drinks until 1AM.
FRIDAY
Hit up Casa Moreno for a Happy Hour from 3-6PM. Enjoy $2 off wine, beer & (verifiably) incredible margaritas. If you’re hungry, take advantage of 50% off of nachos, chalupas & taquitos.

SATURDAY
