“Four years ago, I traveled to Paris for a softball tournament and somewhere along the way, I fell head over heels in love with photography. The entire city of Paris felt like a postcard, and I loved it. I was only in the city for a week and a half, but it managed to convince me to pursue photography as my major. I knew that I’d have to return.
When Point Park University’s study abroad program in Paris was canceled this past spring, I was devastated. After a lot of work, I was able to find another program that offered me an incredible experience abroad.
I have yet to find anyone that has regretted studying abroad. To date, it has been the most transformative and incredible experience for me.
My advice (not that you asked for it or probably want it):Â If you have the slightest, tiniest desire to study abroad, DO IT.Â
“There aren’t words to explain how truly incredible the past four months have been.
When people think of Paris, they think of the Eiffel Tower and the Champs Elysees. But the Paris I have grown to know and love is filled with odorous metro stations, cheap baguettes, bad coffee, and grey skies.
To me, Paris is more than the Eiffel Tower and Notre Dame. As I write from my apartment in Paris, it is home.Â
